Why "Discovery Kids" you might ask:
Our Vision for the Discover Kids Ministry in 2008 is to:
Discover it! Live it! Share it! Discover it!: Discover the promises of God's word and hide it in our hearts! I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11) Live It!: With the Word of God hidden in our hearts, we will strive to live according to His Will! Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) Share It!: Share the love of God with Everyone in everything we do and say! For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

Kids are encouraged to bring thier Bibles weekly. We will be using our Bibles for "sword drills" while learning how to use them and how to find what God has for us in it. The Kids are also encouraged to memorize the books of the New Testament.
Our theme for the month of November is "Set For Life."
In "Set For Life" the kids will learn valuable stewardship principles that will help them look at money and "stuff" in a totally different way. It's not the amount of money we have in life that matters, it's our attitude toward that money that matters.
For the Month of November, Discovery Kids will collect pledges for their sacrifice of soda pop. Please encourage them by supporting their efforts as they raise money for the Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge.
Praise The Lord, our kids raised $440 for BGMC by abstaining from soda pop.
(Boys & Girls Missionary Challenge) BGMC is the missions education emphasis for children in the Assemblies of God. It provides resources to help teach kids about missions. It supports our missionaries in their fields of ministry in America and around the world.
Do you know? Among the Assemblies of God Missionaries, 85% were called to be missionaries while they were between the ages of 9 and 13! We bring our Buddy Barrels full of offerings to Kids Church every Sunday. Our Sunday morning Discovery Kids Church offerings go directly to the BGMC program each week. Our kids bring their Buddy Barrels full each week excited to empty them into the offering bags and see just how full they can get those bags. Periodically we have our BGMC services to help the kids understand the meaning of giving to Missions and that every penny counts when it is given to further the Kingdom of God. With videos, pictures, Missionary reports and studies of countries receiveing BGMC support our kids are catching the vision of missions.
